In September of 2014 I was given my very first photojournalism assignment. Dave Hazzan was writing an article on the Russian neighbourhood in Dongdaemun, Seoul for the Food and Drink section of Groove magazine. Groove is South Korea's biggest English language magazine, so I was pretty stoked to be given an opportunity without any experience. It was also my first time doing food photography, so looking back now it's obviously not my best work - Making strogonof look as good as it tastes is certainly a challenge! But it was a valuable learning experience that I am very grateful for.
Below are some of the images that I took at Samarqand, My Friend, Gostiny Dvor and the mini mart where we enjoyed well deserved Baltika beers. Read the article here.
